Hand drawn, CAD modified, laser cut and hand sawn, hand finished

The microscopic marine creature namesake of this earring inspired the layers of low tarnish sterling silver and titanium.

The thin layers of these fun swaying earrings keep them lightweight. Pure titanium layers contrast with the low tarnish sterling silver. Industrially produced stainless steel fasteners remind us that humankind’s activities on land affect even the tiniest of sea creatures.

The earrings are shown on their backs, with the tops clearly shown. The niobium ear wires shown here connected between the center titanium layer and the back low tarnish sterling silver layer of the Zygocircus Triquetrus

I modified the creature as I redrew the two microscopic creatures by hand; based on the drawings below. I digitized the new hand drawing, modified it again in CAD and sent the design to vinyl cutter. I hand sawed the 30 gauge low tarnish sterling silver and pure titanium. I textured, burnished and hand finished each curve and cutout by hand.

The low tarnish sterling silver resists tarnishing and the titanium is pure grade 2 titanium. The ear wires were handmade using hypoallergenic niobium.
