Three layers of recycled sterling silver in the form of a radiolarian are joined with stainless steel fasteners to become this necklace.

Radiolarian Trio C.H. Müller

Necklace
Electrolytic etched, hand formed

Recycled sterling silver, stainless steel
4.4 x 4.5 x 0.9 cm (1.7 x 1.8 x 0.3″)

The necklace represents a Collosphaera Huxleyi Müller radiolarian, a microscopic sea creature which I’ve scaled up to bring attention to it and the wearer. The radiolarian is based on one of Ernst Haeckel’s drawings in his 1862 book “Art Forms In Nature” which focused on creatures from the waters of the Strait of Messina.

The Radiolarian Trio necklace is available to purchase at ZFolio Gallery in Monterey California from Dec 1, 2017 to January 3, 2018. To inquire about purchasing this piece or one of my other two pieces in the Winter Abundance exhibition, contact ZFolio directly. (831) 655-9891. The gallery is open daily 9 am – 8:30 pm PST.
