As we prepared for a SCUBA diving trip to the Yucatán’s Costa Maya town of Majahual, we were informed it was cancelled due to Hurricane Dean ravaging the area. People were struggling to survive and the resort was leveled along with hundred of other buildings. When Majahual was ready for visitors a while later, we enjoyed our time visiting the still recovering area and diving the pristine areas of the north section of the Belize Barrier Reef.
